I received this email from Connexion by Boeing which said that Boeing would be discontinuing Connexion by Boeing. The upside is that passengers will be able to use the service free of charge from now till the end of the year depending on the airline you were travelling with.
I remember using the service on Singapore Airlines at US$26.95 for 24hrs, physician which is pretty worth it if you were on an 18 hour flight, I think. There was no indication on their website today on whether the free service was available.

I’ve never had a chance to use the in-flight internet service, even though it was touted to be available on the Executive Economy flights (Until you look at the fine fine print and it says it’s only on London to Singapore flights).
What a great concept though… maybe if they offered it more, more people would have used it.
I certainly would have and I flew home to Singapore twice this year with a husband who would have paid for it too. That’s two whopping wi-fi users dangit!

It’s available for free till year end yes, on the 744’s. Usually they make announcement about it. Then when the magic word “FREE” come out, all the laptops will be whipped out. Even PSP can surf too hehe, but it’s a pain cuz no keyboard la.

Only on the 744s huh? I’m flying later this year and I’m not sure what aircraft I’ll be on. Problem is, when you fly economy, you can’t plug in your laptop to the power supply to enjoy more than a couple of hours of wi-fi.

Well depends on where you heading to. Usually they use the 744’s on London, Sydney, sometimes LA route. Lemme see what I can find out for you.
With regards to charging, see if you can charm the crew in business class to let you do it. Work that Miyagi magic!!
