I really don’t mind buskers. But in a country where you have to audition before some National Arts Council panel in order to get a licence to busk, you’d sometimes wonder who sits on that panel, and whether, as part of the National Environmental Agency’s charter, if the use of amplifiers would automatically disqualify you from getting a licence.
Or maybe I’m just a little ol’ skool in thinking that buskers are supposed to be all accoustic/unplugged.

they aren’t allowed to “use any sound amplification device, other than those that are battery operated.”
so a shitload of batteries is apparently allowed, and those buskers have been using them. i wonder how much money they spend on batteries daily…
and even stranger, this would mean that the body of the guitar/cello/whatever is actually not allowed to be used, cause it is a ‘sound amplification device’.
don’t ask why. that’s the rule.
