Didja know that HIV screening is mandatory for NSmen who have trained overseas?
I do now. My battalion got sms-notified to report for ‘duty’ two weeks from now, so they can screen us three months after returning from the Queensland bush.
iTunes is playing an illegal copy of World by Irma Thomas of which I have the original CD.

Curious minds want to know: Is it any of their business to mandate such screenings, since you’ve just completed your reservist obligation for this cycle? Shouldn’t it be the individual person’s responsibility to take a test, or else part of the regular fitness check at the next training cycle?
Also, who has access to these screening records besides the SAF?

it’s strange that it’s mandatory for ur unit when u guys went to rockhampton and it’s quite unlikely that anyone will HIV given the level of isolation, unless perhaps someone starts humping an infected kangaroo.
on the other hand, it wasn’t mandatory for my unit even though we went kanchanaburi.

Perhaps the SAF was afraid of their men re-enacting scenes from “Brokeback Mountain” ?
