Map-o-rama

Google Earth woulda been da bomb if dey had a Mac version. It’s probably the only time I’d ignore this here Powerbook for an hour or so and go hijack someone else’s PC.

And if, like me, you drool over maps and can spend hours poring over them, making landmarks out of contours, then Google Earth will give you shitloads of pleasure. You can go, “Look, darling, this is where I used to live, innit cool?” about 129 times, even though you’ll get only 3 or 4 “yes dears” in response.

I flew around Singapore and managed to get pretty good resolution images of my home and workplace and where I went for lunch today. But if you’re thinking of getting down to the 10th metre or so, you’d be disappointed that you can’t quite see who walks the mean streets of Singapore:

iTunes is playing an illegal copy of Plenty Nonsense Dey For Nigeria by Femi Kuti from the podcast “naija jams”.

  1. i had a hard time looking for my place.

had to trace the mrt track from kallang, backwards towards the east.

when i finally found my place, i was kinda shocked.

and i didnt know the compound looked like THAT.

but it was fun. printscreen & shared stuff with my frens. just hope that no1 would drop a bomb on my roof.

and i still cant find changi general hospital. tsk.

i tried tilting, hoping to see some sign on ANY building. but to my dismay… the buildings became flatter and flatter as i tilted the image. arrgghhh.

  3. Happened to see a similar ‘crow culling’ van on the road last Sunday @ Frankel Ave, guessed what? The van pulled over at side of the road. The driver got off and walked over to the 4D shop to try his luck…the shooter came out..look up in the sky, and Bang! one shot and one crow dropped. Just one shot for the whole 15 mins duration while he stood there watching the rest of the crows flying around. picked up the dead bird and when the driver returned , they just drove off! That’s what I called “Killing 2 birds with 1 shot!” HAHAHA…
