But I’m still on that plane this Wednesday to New York for Singapore’s first ever Singapore Day.

Apparently, the response has bee SO good that we are now gonna be performing in Central Park.

Now I really feel like Barbra!

I got upgraded! YAY!

Singapore Day, this inaugural event will see film directors, singers, dancers, hawkers, actors and musicians showcase Singapore and what’s been going on in the Arts and Entertainment scene in the past decade.

I’m booked to fly out on 18th April on the SIN-EWK direct and coming home 24th April, JFK-SIN (via Frankfurt).

Well, having just been in New York in February this year, I guess this time around, it’s gonna be WORK!

If you know any Singaporeans living in and around New York, let them know about this event. It’s going to be
fun and there’ll be loads of local food not to be missed.

I’m still crossing my fingers that my upgrade from Singapore to Newark will come through. Anyone can pull strings? HAHA!
Yes we’re being flown Economy. On SQ, but still, economy.

Oh well, I guess the budget has to go elsewhere…like salaries and stuff…

I don’t wanna be holed up in the hotel all week! We’ve already booked 3 broadway musicals to watch.

I’d been away for Christmas holidays in Sydney. We spent 2 glorious weeks there just eating and sleeping.

Since coming home, I’ve been up to my eyeballs with radio, rehearsals for Chestnuts and now my own show.

I hope you all are doing fine and if you haven’t already bought tickets to Hossan: Mulitple Personalities Disorder, BUY NOW!

We stayed at the Metropolitan Bangkok and can I just say that it was everything and more. The room we had is called the Metropolitan Room and it was just lovely. These are the largest standard/deluxe rooms in Bangkok, at 51-54sq metres each. The King size bed is flanked by a simple teak wood bench, bedecked in Thai silk cushions. The mosaic and limestone bathrooms are conspicuously oversized. The toiletries are out of this world, courtesy of the COMO Shambhala Spa.

The whole experience was so relaxing that we didn’t even leave the hotel the first day we were there! I suggest you get a massage (The COMO Shambhala relaxing massage) upon arrival, to put you into the holiday chill mood. Then take it from there, be it a walk along the frenetic streets of Bangkok or the crowded corridors of MBK Centre.

I would like to thank the Staff of the Met for the beautiful birthday cake that they gave me. It was a pleasant surprise!

One thing’s for sure though, we flew Thai International…I think I’ll stick to the Singapore Girl, because I think she’s the only way to FLY!

I know it’s been a while since I wrote anything. I’ve been in KL performing with Selena Tan in Wanton Me!
I had a really good time and would like to say a big Thank You to all the people who came to support the show!

I will definitely go back to KL and do my own show there next year!

Learnt a lot about patience, how and when to bite my tongue and this experience has made me realise that there are LOADS of insecure people out there.

The people there are warm and very hospitable. Oh by the way…there is no alcohol…there are no pubs, no clubs…

The hotel I was staying in has a carpark right in front of it. At midnight, about a hundred cars start to arrive, guys driving with their windows down and their music pumped up! They parked their cars in rows and they all played their hip-hop music at FULL volume. Then they just stood around and talked!

I swear, my windows and doors were literally rattling! They did this till about 4 in the morning!

This is the country where they fined a couple on Valentine’s Day $500 each for just talking on the beach after sunset just because they weren’t married. Well, it’s also the place where petrol is just 50 cents per litre!
