My recent Brunei Trip!

February 19th, 2006 · Comments

Baiduri Show with Selena Tan and Donna DanielsSo I just got back from Bandar Seri Begawan. Did a show there for Baiduri Bank’s Chinese New Year Celebrations.

The people there are warm and very hospitable. Oh by the way…there is no alcohol…there are no pubs, no clubs…

The hotel I was staying in has a carpark right in front of it. At midnight, about a hundred cars start to arrive, guys driving with their windows down and their music pumped up! They parked their cars in rows and they all played their hip-hop music at FULL volume. Then they just stood around and talked!

I swear, my windows and doors were literally rattling! They did this till about 4 in the morning!

This is the country where they fined a couple on Valentine’s Day $500 each for just talking on the beach after sunset just because they weren’t married. Well, it’s also the place where petrol is just 50 cents per litre!

    Hi Hossan,
I'm fr BSB. Were you, by any chance, staying in the Risqun Hotel? If so, it's not suprising about the loud music. Even I get annoyed by that and I try to avoid that place after midnight. But anyhow, hope you enjoyed your stay in the humble abode of peace.
