I’m not a soccer fan, but I know I’ll get sucked into watching at least a few key matches. Such is the game the whole world plays.

So I thought it’d be interesting, at least for me, to see who people think will win the Cup.

heart wishes it was England, head says otherwise.

the bookies are always nice & fair, one World Cup European team wins it, the next a South American team.

We grew up on a largely English football diet but the English team is definitely far from being the best team out there — just witness how they had to rely on two own-goals from Japan to win in a recent friendly. I hope for a long-due Spanish win but the only consistency about them is their form inconsistency.

Never been a World Cup in Africa before, so maybe the rules about winners from alternating continents won’t apply!
