Gotta love the internet: Icee mystery solved

I wrote a post about Icee last August, won­der­ing where the colour­ful slushy drink was sold, if any­where at all.

The mys­tery has been solved. Dwayne Scott left a com­ment on that blog post say­ing he was the man who set up the Icee fran­chise in Singapore:

FROM THE MAN WHO SET UP ICEE SINGAPORE 1N 1979.AFTER TRYING FOR 10 YEARS THE ICEE CORP CLOSED THAT OFFICE IN 1989.THERE IS SOME DISCUSSION OF MAYBE TRYING TO REOPEN THAT OFFICE AND SEVERAL OTHERS THAT WERE IN OPERATION THROUGHOUT SOUTHEAST ASIA FROM 1979 UNTIL 1996 WHEN THE REGIONAL OFFICE IN HONG KONG FINALLY CLOSED.
HONG KONG,INDONESIA,TAIWAN,MALAYSIA AND THE PHILIPPINES WERE THE OTHERS.
I ENJOYED EVERY TRIP I MADE TO SINGAPORE,I HOPE TO RETURN AGAIN SOON

Thank you Scotty, for mak­ing Icee a part of our youth. (I was gonna say child­hood, but you know, I’m not that young). And it’s really ok to type EVERYTHING IN CAPS, because if Icee used to freeze my brains, I can imag­ine what it would have done to your keyboard.
