If you’ve ever won­dered if Sin­ga­pore was really such a hi-tech con­nected coun­try with hi-tech con­nected peo­ple, won­der no further.

On the Emer­ald Hill Group’s website’s “Work for us” sec­tion, there are open­ings for ‘Clean­ers’ to work at their var­i­ous out­lets on Emer­ald Hill. So con­fi­dent are they that peo­ple who usu­ally seek employ­ment as clean­ers would have inter­net access and have the nous to look up job open­ings online.

    Besides, I just thought it’d be funny because I thought not many peo­ple would apply for a cleaner’s job online.

I would imag­ine Mr Miyagi’s com­ments derived from the fact that well, unless you have the num­bers to prove it, the prob­a­bil­ity of a cleaner being internet-savvy and there­fore apply­ing for a job online is min­i­mal, if not zero.

    And before you even jump to con­clu­sion yet again that I do not have sta­tis­tics, per­haps you should go con­sult Gar­ner or AC Nielsen. They track just about every­thing. And yes, occu­pa­tion is tracked as well.
