This Bring Your Own Bag Day thing has got­ten quite a few peo­ple in a tizzy. I didn’t know of it until a friend men­tioned that he was charged 10c per plas­tic bag when he went shop­ping. He claims it isn’t unrea­son­able, given that, ‘in Tai­wan, you buy any­thing in the 7-Eleven also have to pay for the plas­tic bags’.

But what’s this news of peo­ple want­ing dis­counts for reusing/recycling bags? WTF?

    i had started using recy­clable bags for quite some time already. but i got really pissed off with some of the cashiers at ntuc, shop n save, guardian. i can’t quite recall if wat­son is included. u noe what? when i checked out with my stuff & told the cashiers that i got my own car­rier, they actu­ally stood there doing noth­ing & expected me to pack the pur­chases myself! my hands were full, i bought sev­eral items, i as the cus­tomer, how come i was sup­posed to be doing their job? on a few occa­sions, i asked that they help me put the items into the car­rier, the cashiers gave me a really unhappy look! very boh gan guan atti­tude leh, miyagi! after these few unhappy expe­ri­ences, i stopped using my own car­rier at these outlets.

    THE ABOVE ARE MY TRUE EXPERIENCES! I SAID THE TRUTH, NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!

    good thing that the govt started this BYOB move. now these xyz *&# peo­ple have no excuses liao!

    btw, i don’t recall see­ing V8 in the market..
