Why should Atlas keep strain­ing under the weight of a world which doesn’t appre­ci­ate his efforts?

We hope all is well with you and Mr Brown. Time is pre­cious so allow us come directly to our point.

Mr Miyagi it is not our usual prac­tice to inter­fere with the activ­i­ties of blog­gers. How­ever recently, we (the coun­cil) have observed a series of dis­turb­ing devel­op­ments in Mr Browns blog which may have oth­er­wise posed a clear and present dan­ger to our on going inter­est in cyberspace.

We do not care for pol­i­tics. Nei­ther do we wish to offer a com­ment as to who is right or wrong – these con­sid­er­a­tions sim­ply do not fea­ture in our tac­ti­cal and strate­gic cal­cu­la­tions — our inter­est is only lim­ited to what we term, “the game”

The last thing we need is an excuse for the gov­ern­ment to leg­is­late and impose restric­tions on our game because they feel either enraged or threat­ened by irre­spon­si­ble activ­i­ties in cyber­space – like I said, it is always about the game and very lit­tle else.

Please under­stand why we con­sid­ered it a mat­ter of strate­gic pri­or­ity to com­mand our covert “mod­er­a­tors” into the Mr Brown’s blog to attempt to cool mat­ters. In doing so we are reminded of the latin maxim, “inter arma silent leges”. Where there is war only chaos rules and only the broth­er­hood has the power to restore law and order through the ranks of it’s schol­ars – be reminded always we will never hes­i­tate to deploy every means pos­si­ble to ensure our sov­er­eignty in cyberspace.

Though we can­not claim any inti­macy with your cause or even per­mit our­selves to do so beyond the inter­est of the game, we respect your posi­tion. In return gen­tle­men, we hope you will do the same and appre­ci­ate the del­i­cacy of our inter­est and why our eco­nomic and tech­no­log­i­cal des­tinies are inex­tri­ca­bly linked together by our mutual acts and omis­sions in cyber­space – there­fore we urge you both to keep cyber­space free from any unnec­es­sary con­tro­ver­sies under the strongest diplo­matic terms. Oth­er­wise we may be com­pelled to re-evaluate our posi­tion again.

We under­stand based on our intel­li­gence reports, Mr Brown’s blog is cur­rently being rav­aged by a group of unde­sir­ables who are bent on mis­chief. Rest assured these ele­ments have noth­ing to do with the broth­er­hood and ALL our covert oper­a­tives have been instructed to stand down, though a few have been ordered to remain there to observe and report their findings.

Our only wish is to be left in peace to play our beloved game. Surely gen­tle­men, this is not too much to ask?
