Calling off the hunt

So we found a place that’s really nice — an apart­ment which is old enough not to be the usual low-ceiling small bed­room type of apart­ment. It’s got green­ery, lots of it, and a dusty old lift lobby that’s seen bet­ter days.

But oh, the stress of hav­ing my mother, and my friends scream over the phone, things like, “Whaaaaaat? Wha you mean you paid the agents’ com­mis­sion? You kenah conned!”, and “Whaaaat? The agent is try­ing to con you!”.

I doubt the agent was try­ing to con me, because he explained quite clearly that, “is because is a break­lease like what I explain to you ear­lier, because the ten­ant break­lease so must com­pen­sate although nor­mally no need to pay com­mis­sion but I get for you the price is way below what is ask­ing and the arrange­ment is you pay half they pay half like I explain ear­lier already although no need to pay com­mis­sion but this time is pay half month is quite com­mon many peo­ple also got this type of arrange­ment even though it you nor­mally is no need to pay”.

So much clearer. Even clearer after I parted with my cheque.

But you know what?
