If you don’t already know, there’s at least one local blo­gos­phere con­tro­versy every day. Today’s stoush of choice comes cour­tesy of mr brown’s, where his use of the local col­lo­quail col­lo­quil ver­nic­u­lar word has stirred up a hor­nets’ nest of purists and non-purists alike. I have lit­tle to say about this issue, as with all other issues, except that I have not sul­lied anyone’s mother tongue, and there is no such thing as a mother tongue. We don’t play mother one.
